Holland spent most of his childhood in Kingston, London along with his parents Nicola Elizabeth and Dominic Holland. Holland pursued his basic education from a Roman Catholic preparatory school in Wimbledon, London. After his foot-holding performance in MCU movies, Holland has multiple projects lined up for him. As, for his confirmed future projects he will voicing Ian Lightfoot, opposite to Chris Pratt, in the Pixar animated film titled Onward. He also has been cast in the film adaptation of Patrick Ness' best-selling series Chaos Walking as the character of Todd Hewitt, alongside Daisy Ridley, which was planned to be directed by Doug Liman. His other projects include The Devil All the Time, a horror film set in the post-World War II Scenario, alongside his previous co-star Sebastian Stan. The film is scheduled to be released in 2020. In March of 2019, it was confirmed that Holland was cast as the lead role in Cherry, reteaming him with the Russo Brothers.

In May of 2017, it was announced that he had been cast as the young Nathan Drake in the film adaptation of Naughty Dog's Uncharted video game series. He also got cast as the lead role in the film adaptation of Beneath the Scarlet Sky with Pascal Pictures.
