After completing his pre-university education from the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics In Mumbai, Ranbir Kapoor relocated to New York City to learn film-making professionally. He subsequently pursued method acting from the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. In film school, Ranbir directed and starred in two short films, entitled Passion to Love and India 1964. During his time in New York City, he felt homesick and depressed, all this coupled with his experience from film school pushed him to pursue a career in Bollywood.
